Lukas Forer is the Group Leader of the Genome-Informatics Group at the Institute of Genetic Epidemiology, where his team develops and applies innovative informatics approaches, such as machine learning technologies, to advance the understanding of genomics.
Lukas Forer holds a PhD in Computer Science and develops methods and computational tools that help researchers find answers to their research questions. His current research focuses on genotype imputation, polygenic risk scores, cloud computing, and the efficient analysis of big data.
