PhD Program
The Digital Medicine PhD program, offered by the Innsbruck PhD School for Biomedical Sciences, is dedicated to methodological and computational contributions in medicine and biomedicine, spanning AI, epidemiology, statistics, computational biology, and scientific computing across data types such as health records, imaging, genetics, and multi-omics, the same themes that define our faculty.
Many AISCM members supervise or co-supervise Digital Medicine PhD candidates, and our seminars, journal clubs, and events are open to students in the program as a way to connect with the wider methods community on campus.
How it fits together
- Every candidate has a principal investigator plus a Thesis Advisory Committee combining a methodological expert (AI, statistics, informatics) and a clinical/biomedical domain expert. AISCM faculty regularly serve in the methodological role.
- Our monthly seminars and journal clubs are a good way for prospective and current candidates to see what methodological work is happening across the faculty before choosing a supervisor.
